Creating Opportunities, Enriching Lives

You Thrive Florida is a mid-sized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to fostering thriving individuals, families, and communities through a holistic approach to service delivery. Its core funding comes from federal and state “pass-through” grants, while long-term sustainability is strengthened by the generous support of local donors, strategic partnerships, in-kind contributions, community fundraising, and dedicated volunteers.

Our History

A Proud Tradition

You Thrive Florida was founded in 1968 in Brooksville, FL, as part of the national Community Action Agency network created under the 1964 Economic Opportunity Act to combat poverty. Over time, the organization experienced significant growth and evolved its mission. Today, You Thrive Florida operates independently of the Community Action framework, focusing instead on empowering individuals across all income levels to enhance their capacity to thrive.

Our Mission

You Thrive Florida provides life changing services and opportunities to individuals and families, in an effort to improve their ability to thrive.

Our Vision

You Thrive Florida envisions a future where communities are working together to solve local challenges; where all individuals and families are empowered and equipped with the tools and resources to improve their overall quality of life, well-being, and opportunities to thrive.

Our Core Values

Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Inclusion, Vision, Empathy, and Synergy—collectively known as THRIVES—embody a commitment to fostering a collaborative, supportive environment with clear and effective communication. Teamwork emphasizes the power of collective effort, while Honesty builds trust and transparency in all interactions. Respect encourages valuing diverse perspectives and treating everyone with dignity. Inclusion ensures that all voices are heard and embraced, creating a space where everyone belongs. Vision inspires a clear sense of direction and shared purpose, driving progress toward common goals. Empathy fosters understanding and compassion, recognizing and addressing the needs and feelings of others. Lastly, Synergy highlights the importance of collaboration, where the combined efforts of individuals result in outcomes greater than the sum of their parts. Together, these values create the foundation for success and positive impact.
